Inside Painted
the claw foot bathtub was painted, if painted white inside and out. How do I remove this???
I'm not sure if remover simple paint would be good .....
I am an interior decorator and have encountered this before. It really depends on what the surface of the tub is (porcelain enamel Cast Iron, fiberglass, etc. ..) and what type of paint used. If the wall paint was used you can use a heat gun to paint peeling away, or you can buy a chemical stripper. CAUTION: If your bath is a replica, both of these medthods damage the fiberglass or plastic tub. If the tub was painted professionally with a good quality oil based epoxy, and if the paint is still in good shape (no peeling or flaking) you may have to paint a color you like. However, if the tub is plastic or fiberglass and the paint is in good shape, I hate to say this, but the easiest thing to do would be to start the tub and replace it.
