Mosin Nagant is a good for me?
I'm 15 and I say that I'm a big shot. I'm looking for something that is a little better than a .22, but is still fairly inexpensive. I saw a Mosin Nagant 91/30 in my local gun shop with a cleaning kit, ammunition pouch, bayonet (Sweet!), And a sling for $ 90. I used mainly for hunting deer and maybe Turkey, but especially shooting. Is this a good gun for me? PS I do not know if thisll help but currently using a .22-caliber 24, and a variety of high-caliber pistols. Thanks
This rifle can not be for you. But the answer me this, it may trigger improvised? You'll know if you try to shoulder the rifle and keep it stable for 60 seconds. If you can not then look for a different rifle. Have you looked at the M44? Its the same rifle, but a shorter length. Ammo in it, and has a bayonet. And about the same cost. Have you ever fired a lightning action 308 or 30.06? The retreat will be approximately the same. If you are shooting from a position supported mainly I would say go for the 91/30 as it is a rifle more accurate than a Mosin Nagant M38 or M44. Now to use it, yes Deer a great choice. Turkey, not so good. I would say use your shotgun. There would be little of the turkey if you hit your body. I'll tell you that once you start shooting what they call Mil surplus rifles, its hard to stop. Theres something about them that makes you want more. Something else you should know. You'll have to clean the rifle before possible if you are shooting the Mil-surplus ammunition. It will tackle the rust and the barrel if they do not.
