Would it be best to link Tibet with the Chinese language or Hindi in college?
I want to help benefit the Tibetan people, and perhaps even taught at university level in the future. Would it be better to combine with Hindi or Chinese Tibetan Tibetan if my goal is to work abroad?
If you want to benefit the Tibetan people, surely the priority should lie more in China than Hindi. The core problem is that the two parties (the Tibetans vs. Chinese official) not understanding each other, each point of view of the other and each others way of thinking, feeling and reason. Too many people think should help one side and fight them the other. If you really want to help the Tibetans (and Chinese), you should find possible ways to promote understanding, respect and friendship between Tibetans and Chinese (including supporters of Tibet and western China). To do that, you need to do what you can understand both sides to yourself, and the only way to do that in a deeper level is to meet many people from both cultures, that will make only a superficial level if you can not speak their languages. The policy of Chinese government on Tibet and the Dalai Lama is a shame but we will do nothing to improve the situation of hate and fight against the Chinese, either in words or deeds. If the Chinese have the impression that Western Tibet supporters hate the Chinese, who will never hear, much less give in to their demands. First, the Chinese need understand the damage his Tibet policy to make themselves even more Chinese than Tibetans ago. Ignorant Westerners who try to help Tibetans often only make things worse just using one eye, and thus not seeing the whole picture.
