How about some Ephemera
I love the vintage, old things, the stuff that you find in the trunks of old abandoned and forgotten saved in a musty old attic.
Search the collection and use of the ephemeral can make a good pastime. Finally, a use for the paper, all former encountered in the sales of goods and antique shops. It can also be very pretty and incorporated into a number of hobby projects, apart from collecting the same.
So what is ephemeral? Wiki says "Ephemera is transitory written and printed matter not intended to be retained or preserved. The word derives from Greek, meaning that only lasted one day. "I also found a blog post that exposes on the subject in much deeper detail it really needed to know in the Ephemera Society of America.
For me (and apparently some others from google for "What is ephemeral" gave a similar response from another person) the ephemeral is a name given to all those old papers and collectibles that are not like us and for those who need good title so we have a way of saying we like these
"I love these old papers and things I have found" does not sound so funny and charming as "I love to collect and create things with Ephemera ".
A friend of mine on Facebook share a link to an article on the discovery of the first information cover of the book among some ephemeral. It's a little interesting reading if you also like history and old things. Personally, I never thought he had a first time someone uses a book jacket. Evident in her face, but one of those things that are not so sure.
Those of us who enjoy this sort of thing too you antiques, things that just look old and are attracted to historic places and things, probably a propensity for genealogical research too. To me, that's what seems to be the most obvious form of ephemera. Using it to enhance and enrich the research of the history of his family in a book regards.
Ephemera and love of genealogical research seem to fit very well. When creating a scrapbook of housing some of the treasures more interesting and noteworthy in their family tree, the search for documents written and dated around the time of your display theme certainly be creative to use not right? Add an interest, and draw a few oooohs and ahhhhs of at least some who see it.
This is a great little hobby for the creative person. Many of the things you could make use of the ephemeral, collages, scrapbooks, embellish any number of other elements to it (like picture frames for example) and can analyze and use the images creatively (like a web page background
). handwritten letters and old family photos would be free of any concerns about copyright if they are Very Old. What a treasure of original works of art we can do with these.
I like to see family photos Discarded and my natural tendency is to want to protect them, even if the photos have no ties to my family. There is something sad to see a family history discarded. But what I do with them. It is impractical to prevent all. Especially when they have no relation with my family. Making a creative hobby can use to solve this problem.
I rescued a box of papers from a sale of assets about two years ago. found a number of documents of World War II carefully guarded by the father of the woman who had passed. Apparently she had taken her father's belongings to his home and placed them as the left. The old file box I found in there seemed no been touched in years. I ordered and piles of documents scanned and found there is a market for them among people who enjoy them. One person in particular bought most of them wanted man just because he belonged to was a Navy pilot and his hobby was focused on tracking the life of a number pilots of the Second World War. Anyway, were rescued from a destination near the trash (on the corner I found them stuck in a pile of other papers and trash at the end of a sale). The exercise was not profitable, the hours of sorting and scanning, but I enjoyed it. To me, that was part hobby, appealing to my practice the nature and gave someone else a little pleasure too. You can find this stuff at Wal-Mart.
There are many of us here who enjoy these are small, so I hope new homes in the store for a bunch of old papers, old photographs and other ways of harvesting and ends with only add a little creativity.
