Cleansing prayer/Smudge stick?
Do you have to say a cleansing prayer for a smudge stick to work?
No. But to add to my intentions and energy, when smudging I tend to affirm out loud in each room that I am cleansing and casting out all negative and unwanted energies. But I've smudged without saying anything and had the same effect. Your words simply help you focus your intent and will.
