How do I prepare a pot of tea right?
I have Earl Gray and lemon and ginger, you could recommend for my first attempt? I have a press tea, and a regular kettle. How do I prepare a pot of tea properly? Furthermore, what does the addition of milk do? (benefit more or less) in the same with sugar? Also, use tea bags, and spill could cut them in the press?
Fill a pot with fresh, cold water, adding sufficient for the desired amount of tea, plus some extra to allow for evaporation and Preheat the teapot. Wait until the water is near boiling, then pour some into the pot and stir. This warms the pot so that is at an optimum temperature for holding tea. Empty the pot. For every cup of tea, place 1 rounded teaspoon of leaves in hot pot. (If the pot has a strainer basket, use it.) Allow the water in the boiler to reach a fast pace boiling point. Pour water over the tea leaves in the teapot. Let the strong tea for 3 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the leaves. Allow a time of maceration leaves larger than for thin sheets. Shake before serving, then strain the tea into the cups. Depending on the tea, you can add sugar, milk, honey or lemon. Keep container closed with a tea cozy to keep warm, and enjoy.
