How difficult is it to sew a quilt or tapestry fabric?

I mean, if I do not know how to sew! What I do is this .... My sister have a wedding, and I do like a collage or quilt wall hanging for her, with wedding photos. Now, I found these beautiful fabrics that are apparently designed to be able to transfer images easily. How difficult is it to sew these things ... I mean, without having to disintegrate!
