the amount of ice melt to change the belt of the Atlantic, making Europe warmer than n. America?

the amount of fresh, cold water should be placed on the Atlantic Ocean through the melting of ice due to a change in the "Atlantic conveyor" that takes the warmer tropical water, brings along the west coast of Europe including the UK to a point where the western coast of Europe and the UK experience famine as a result of a colder climate? for example, that all the North Pole melt? how much ice is in Greenland, which would make this happen? not much of the Greenland ice melted just as the flow of water in the soil? many icebergs will melt? Is there change all the ice in Antarctica melt? how much climate change all that ice melt, and what the outcome would be down in Ecuador?

A lot of questions, I'll see what I can do ... The Gulf Stream is a complex issue and it is unclear what effect, if any, global warming will have. There is a theory that runoff meltwater Caps Arctic and Greenland could disrupt the Gulf Stream. Unfortunately this is not something that can be tested in practice for many is based conjecture. The Gulf Stream is part of the largest thermohaline circulation (also called South Overturning Circulation or MOC, for short). The Gulf Stream (also known as the Atlantic conveyor) is probably the best known ocean currents, but there are several others. These currents are driven by the density of water is affected by two things - the salinity and temperature (thermo = temperature, haline = salt). A change in either could have an impact on the current Gulf, but the two are in conflict. Let me explain ... meltwater is cold and fresh, compared to the oceans are warm and salty. Cold water is denser than warm water so that the meltwater flowing under the Gulf Stream, but at the same time, fresh water is less dense than salt water could flow by the Gulf Stream. What may happen is really a head on collision between meltwater and the Gulf Stream, could be sufficient to raise the current Gulf off course and divert to another location or can be pushed back so that, for example, warmer water is done only in so far as the Middle Atlantic. If the Gulf Stream "off" or diverted then the coastal regions of northwestern Europe could see a drop in temperature to 10 degrees Celsius. The living conditions would change, but there will be famine. The countries that would be affected are well developed and have the ability to import food as needs be. The decrease in crop production could be partly offset by an increase in livestock. Regarding the amount of the merger necessary - is not known, a significant and probably more than there is today. --------------- Most of Greenland's ice mass, the merger occurs is in the area and snow water can not penetrate the ground because the ice below, however, the shapes of rivers and streams that flow over the ice and through passages on the ice. There is also the melting at the edges, the snowmelt sraight here enters the ocean side. -------------- There is no possibility that all the Antarctic is melting - not for long. The interior of Antarctica is cold and very substantial increase in temperature would be needed to melt the ice in those regions. Even if we have done everything possible to try to melt the ice to take thousands of years.
